I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1976 with a BS in Production Agriculture, and was commissioned through the UK ROTC Program as a 2d Lt. in the United States Army. I served for the next 42 years as an infantry officer in West Berlin, Germany, Fort Bragg, NC, and as a civilian Intelligence Analyst specializing in the Pacific region, and later the Middle East as a member of the US Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, NC, and the 1st Theater Sustainment Command, Fort Knox, KY. In 1986, I earned an MS in Political Science, from Campbell University, Buies Creek, NC. Retiring in 2018, I returned to the University of Kentucky, earning a BA in Applied Anthropology and History, and an MA in Applied Anthropology. I am currently a 4th-year PhD student.

My current research is on the Cohonina tradition of north-central Arizona (A.D. 700-1200), with an emphasis on their origins, and final disappearance from the archaeological record.
