In July 2017, Dr. Mark Whitaker brought together international scholars and students for his Workshop on Innovative Religiosity in Post-War Sri Lanka, which took place at The Open University in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Dr. Whitaker was awarded two substantial grants--one from the National Science Foundation and one from the Wenner-Gren Foundation--in order to facilitate the workshop and a publication of works created as a result of the workshop.
